Arthritic fingers shaped like claws
Aching knees that make him pause
The old eyes, the wrinkled face
His crooked body out of place
His vision sharp despite the years
Today it isn’t death he fears
The sea the colour of his eyes
Tears are falling as he cries

A hard and heavy path he strode
The cruel sea took both his sons
